As long as it’s safe, Celtic Quest fishing boats go out in the rain. Of course, our experienced captains will decide to venture out or cancel on the day of the trip–based on whether or not we can run a fun, safe, productive fishing trip.
Generally speaking, rain isn’t usually a problem (fish don’t care about getting wet!) High winds and/or severe rain cause most cancellations.
Regarding fishing trips in New York, we can’t promise the fish will be hungry! That being said, having made thousands of Port Jefferson fishing trips, we can tell you that most of the time, we reel in some great fish! (Only a few trips have returned with disappointing results!)
