Great crew. They’re patient and always willing to help out. Nice trip 🎣Posted on Google Kara GilvarryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My friends and I ventured down to Port Jefferson’s Celtic Quest fishing feet and sailed on the Celtic Grace Sunday June 14, 2026, for the 5 pm sunset Porgy trip. The crew was outstanding, helpful, and professional, and very entertaining. The service was top tier. I didn’t bring any kids with me but saw how attentive they were to other patrons’ kids on the boat. It was very endearing to see. Truly a family establishment. Fishing was fun and the mates cleaned all our fish. It was fantastic not having to clean the boat and just walk off. Try doing that on your buddies boat! 🤣 5 star operation and we can’t wait to come back!Posted on Google Tommy MeyersTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Celtic Quest Fishing Fleet has been family-owned and operated out of Port Jefferson since 2002, with thousands of trips and generations of Long Island families aboard. Every trip is all-inclusive — rods, reels, bait, tackle, and your fishing license are covered — and our crew fillets and bags your catch before you step off the boat.
Weekday trips (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–2 PM) are $80 for adults, $75 for seniors, and $65 for kids. Weekend and evening 4-hour half-day trips are $70 for adults, $65 for seniors, and $60 for kids. Veterans save an additional $5 on any trip. Every trip is all-inclusive — rods, bait, and tackle are provided at no extra charge. Just bring your food and drinks. See dates and book online.
We sail from Port Jefferson Harbor on Long Island’s North Shore, about 60 miles east of NYC — and Port Jefferson trips run all season long. In May we also sail out of Jamesport, and in the fall we run trips from our dock in Mattituck, NY. We fish the calm, protected waters of Long Island Sound — typically 20 minutes to an hour from the dock, wherever the fish are biting. Connecticut guests can even arrive via the Bridgeport–Port Jefferson Ferry, which docks steps from our boats. Not sure which port your trip leaves from? Just give us a call at (631) 928-3926.
No experience needed — most of our guests are beginners, and our mates help with every step, from baiting hooks to reeling in your first fish. Everything is included: rod, reel, bait, tackle, and fishing license. Just bring food, drinks, sunscreen, and a small cooler for your fillets.
It changes with the season: fluke, porgies, sea bass, striped bass, bluefish, and blackfish are the mainstays on Long Island Sound. Check our Fish of the Season page or the trip calendar to see what’s biting right now.
Absolutely — family trips are our specialty. We recommend ages 5 and up, kids 12 and under sail at a child rate, and the boats have clean restrooms, an inside cabin with heat, and life jackets in every size. Non-fishing guests are welcome too.
Yes — the Celtic Quest IV and Celtic Grace are available for private charters: birthdays, corporate outings, team building, bachelor parties, scout trips, and memorials. Open-boat trips run daily in season, and reservations are required — book online or call (631) 928-3926.
