What a glorious day out there today! Picked away all day and by days end finished up with 50 tog to 8lbs as well as some porgies, sea bass and blues. Not as good as yesterday but still some real nice tog came over the rails. Just getting started!

Tog were nippin today!!! Good aggressive bite as we ended up with over 100 keepers to 8lbs! Joe Koo was on FIRE with 12 keepers. Another gentleman had 9 keepers. (ONLY RETAINING LIMIT OF COURSE) Best part was many of the kids onboard caught some beauties as well. We also had some big porgies, sea bass and blues on a deepwater drop to start the day. It was great to see such a strong tog bite so early in the season.!

Saturday, October 9 ,2010

Much better results today! The full day trip had around 25 keeper tog for 20 fares as the conditions allowed for much better anchoring.

The 9am diamond jigging trip was RED HOT!!!! Bail job on the Blues many 10-12 lbs!!! Awesome trip!

Our PM charter was an all our bonanza! Absolutely crushed giant blues and even had some keeper bass as well. Silly!

The pm open boat was also great on the blues and they also had a few bass.

Very hard day out there today. 20-30 knots of west wind against the biggest incoming tide of the year!! oh my. not fun.

Finished up with around 400-450 porgies, half dozen sea bass, 20 blues and 4 tog. Hard day with those conditions.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Tog are starting to bite! Today ten fares had 34 keepers up to 7 lbs fishing a few of the shallow drops. High hook was 8 keepers. Just the beginning of good days to come!

Some stretch of weather! We didnt sail all week for the most part. We did get out on Wednesday evening and had a good chunking trip with big blues to 12 lbs. We also managed to sail yesterday. The water was very very dirty and the shallow drops were slow due to the extremely dirty water and run off from the storm. We did manage 1 keeper black, dropped a few keepers at the surface and had about 10 shorts but that was it. On a positive note we did put together 500-600 porgies up to 3lbs and some nice sea bass plus a bunch of blues so everyone went home with plenty of fish for dinner.

We didnt sail today and looks like we will be tied up for a few more days as well.

We were blown out today with the weather. Tomorrow doesnt look too nice either. The weekend saw mixed results. A few trips had some excellent porgie fishing and a few trips were slow. Some nice fish around but it was inconsistent on the moon and especially once that east wind picked up. We also had some good jigging on a few trips with lots of blues up to
10 lbs.

Blackfish starts friday!

Here is a recap for the past few days. Tuesday Capt Chris had some excellent fishing on the outgoing tide and everyone went home with a load of porgies, some sea bass and a few blues. Very good trip! We also had a great educational field trip working with Boces. The weather was amazing the fishing was red hot right and the kids had a great time!! The pm trip was drastically hampered by the winds and weather and only a few dozen porgies were landed.

Wednesday the wind was honking a forced us to stay inshore. It was a tough start but once the wind calmed down the bite was on! We finished up with an excellent catch on the outgoing tide of nice sized porgies and a few sea bass. The pm trip saw a one drop night as a nice pick of porgies and blues lasted the right into dark.

Thursday day trip saw a good pick in the morning on the incoming, though the size was a little smaller. We hit a few wrecks to end the day and had some bigger fish. All in all though a solid catch. The pm trip was again a nice pick of porgies all night.
