Fishing was awesome today on the 9am trip!!! Put some nice porgies in the boat to start the trip and then ran over a huge pile of blues! Bail job for rest of the trip. Kids had a blast!

The full day trip had a steady catch of fish all day as 20 fares ended up with close to a limit of porgies, dozen sea bass and few dozen blues. Another solid day!

Had a great time out there today on a special trip organized by the New York Sport fishing Federation to encourage kids to get involved in fishing!. This trip was also sponsored by the Fisherman Magazine send a kid fishing program and Assembly Woman Ginny Fields, who has been an amazing advocate for promoting sport fishing for the our kids as well as all the other work she does on behalf of our industry and community.

Everyone had a great time reeling in porgies all morning. The weather was great as was the company. Nothing is more rewarding then teaching the next generation to love and appreciate the water and our way of life as fishermen.
The smiles on their faces are priceless.!!

Thank you to all who helped put this together and the Ginny Fields for all that you do for our industry as well as the next generation of fisherman to come!

Capt Jon reported back that the full day trip started out with slow action on the scup but finished up very well! Full limit of porgies, some big sea bass to 4 lbs and 50 blues!
Good day

The 9am trip had 75 or so nice big porgies and some sea bass. Nothing spectacular but some nice fish for dinner.

Pm trip was very good. Here is a report written by Capt Neil who brought his family out for some fun:
WOW!!!

What a trip for the Faulkner Family Annual fishing trip!!! 19 of us arrived for the 4:45 PM captains choice trip. The weather and calm seas were perfect. Capt Chris put us on top of lots of porgys. Grandchildren of all ages had flying fish coming over the rail all evening. Young David says he was hi hook with almost 30. Owen says he had 16 of different sizes. Moms and Dads were not left out as they caught and caught some more. Even the old man caught a few, ha, ha!

We saw a beautiful rainbow and then a double rainbow formed. The sunset was stunning and many pics were taken.

Thank you John and Mateo for all your help from the deck force.

Thank you Capt Des for making this possible.

Fishing was very good today. Full limitation of porgies to 3lbs and lots and lots of blues as well for 28 fares!

Very good day!

The 9am trip also had a decent catch of porgies before the tide eased, to go along with some seabass and blues to 10lbs.

Fish are settling in very well now at the middle grounds, and the deep water wrecks. Good days are ahead!

Earlier in the week the fishing was greatly hampered by very strong east winds and kept us inshore. A few trips had some decent life with the porgies but all in all it was very slow. We were able to get back out to the middle grounds yesterday and had some porgies on a few trips and some all out AWESOME! jigging for bass and blues on the outgoing tide.

The pm trip yesterday was fantastic and bass and blues were flying over the rails. Lots of short bass and half a dozen keepers as well. Fish were stacked in the rip all tide. Great trip.

Today was slow on the scup with just a pick of fish. The good outgoing tide set up just before sun set and we were able to get a few very good drifts on the jigs again. Coming off this moon the bottom fishing should bounce right back to where it was last week.

Great day today! The 9am trip saw an all out BAILJOB on the blues! Fish were everywhere! Great to see. We also finished up the trip with a few decent drifts on the porgies.

The full day trip saw 10 anglers put 40-50 nice scup in the boat and several dozen big blues up to 12 lbs! Solid trip.

Things are really starting to look good at the middle. Its that time of year!

Solid fishing for the blues today on the full day trip. Anchored up and started catching the porgies and a very large school of blues appeared. Switched everyone over and put over a 100 in the boat. Finished up with 130 porgies as well.
Nice day

The 9am trip saw a nice steady pick up medium to jumbo porgies in the deep water. A few sea bass also mixed in. Looks like more and more fish are showing up in the middle and the deep water.
Only gets better from here!
