Beautiful Spring day today. Flat calm and warm. The official DEC count today was 20 fare, 37 blackfish, 15 keepers up to 7 lbs. Some decent fish came up but s
till waiting for the big hit!

We did not sail the past two days with the weather. Sailed to day with 7 fares in flat calm conditions. Water temp was holding in the mod 40's. Had a decent bite on the change of tide as 50 blackfish were landed, 17 were keepers. Clams were the best bait today.

Once the ebb got moving the bite slowed. With this great stretch of weather coming up hopefully

this is just the beginning of some good fishing to come.

Picked away at the blacks today. Nothing great yet though.

Despite the lousy forecast it actually turned out to be the nicest day yet with almost no wind and warm temps.

The water has risen a few degrees the past 3 days which we needed. Temps around 45-46 degrees and its getting close to the ideal temp for Spring Blackfishing.

We finished the day with around 40 blackfish, 16 were keepers.
Yesterday we had 20 blacks for the day with 8 keepers. We are getting close though and any day now hopefully it breaks open.

Weather doesnt look good for the next two days.

Hopefully we will try again on Wednesday.

Well…..today was opening day. It has been some awful weather and the water just hasnt heated up much. When we started the day the water temp was a chilly 42.8 degrees. We had a few shorts on the first wreck and that was it.

Wasnt looking too good at all. We kept looking around and trying different depths finding life on every piece, just no keepers…. Until finally, once the incoming tide got going in the afternoon,
a few blacks finally started to bite! We ended up with about 50 blackfish for the day, 16 were keepers with the pool over 6 lbs.

The last drop definitely had some promise. After a slow start it was certainly nice to see a few tog come over the rails. A few more degrees and they should really turn on.

Another good day out there today! 37 anglers had 120 keepers to 8 lbs. 9 year old Gregory Hodulick had a great day catching 10 blackfish, 5 of which were keepers! Rob Lupinacci was high hook with 10 keepers. Its been a great blast of fish to end the season!

We are not sure if we will continue this week after this gale comes through. If the weather clears up and the water temp holds we might try again later in the week. We will keep you posted!
