Fishing Reports

Well it was a fun weekend for sure on our WICC chunking Trips. Last night saw lots of very big blues again including John Papazoros’ 12.77 lbder which is currently in the lead for the Port Jefferson Prize winner!! Lets watch and see if it hold up for John. Tourney ends 5pm today!! Cant wait to get back out there again next weekend for some more of this great chunking action!

Last nights pm wicc bluefish chunking special was a great success! Slammer Blues to 12.5 lb were landed as well as sea bass, porgies and 2 keeper striped bass. Capt Jared put in the overtime and kept the boat out till around 4 this morn! Great trip!!

Excellent day today all around. Nice catch of blues and porgies during the day and excellent jigging for blues on the afternoon trips. Fares went home with lots of fish today!!!

Well, this weekend the annual WICC Bluefish contest and first prize is a nice 25g's!! For the occasion we have added. two Special Gorilla Bluefish Chunking Specials for Friday night and Saturday night! Anyone registered in the contest can hop aboard and we will take you to where they have ben biting best! (fare doesnt include contest registration. That you have to do on your won at your local tackle store:)

The night chunking trips have been EXCELLENT with lots of big
blues coming over the rails. We have caught fish well into the teens this week. For these trips we will target some prime bottom structure that has been producing very large blues recently in hopes that one of you may just be the lucky winner! Visit our website or give a call for more details.

The bottom fishing was also very good today with plenty of porgies and some nice sea bass as well so its good to see the late summer action heating up! Hope to see you at the rail soon.

Good fishing today with a savage bite. many fish, had to pick through the shorts to get to the nice Scup, bit solid numbers hit the deck. Cap. Jack was high hook with 20, one a beautiful strands! Great time to bring the kids for trip before school starts.

Savage chicking bite friday night on GIANT BLUES and one Keeper Striped Bass. Many fish in the teen class. Awesome fishing. Saturday night was also excellent. Looks good for the upcoming WICC Bluefish Tournament!!!

Despite tough conditions we put together a good catch of beautotal scup and seabass. Also making an appearance were 25 blues 6 tog to 6 pounds that will live to fight another day and….a lobster!

HOT fishing on a few of the trips today!!! Last night chunking trip was Great!!! BIG blues to 14 lbs!! Lots of them! The chunk bite has really broken open!!

Capt Jon just reported back from the 445 trip and it was awesome!!. Lots of limits of very big quality porgies. Excellent bottom fishing. Crew is still cleaning fish at the dock!

The last 3 evening trip have seen some excellent bottom fishing!!! Extremely large quality porgies, some nice seabass and blues have been providing great action! Everyone has been going home with lots of nice fillets for dinner thats for sure!

The day trips have also seen some decent action. Some of the wrecks have held nice shots of sea bass. The blues have been mixing in and the porgie bite has been solid as well. The quality size of these porgies has been great to see!

A lot more blues have set up in the deepwater as well which is a great sign for the night chunking trips! Those trips should continue to build from here on right through the fall.
