Things were not looking good when we first started today. The wave height was up to 8 feet on the weather buoy at midnight and the water was all stirred up when we started. No bites at all on the first wreck.Tried a few other drops with very little success. As the tide changed we moved off into some deeper water and luckily the togs started to bite!

Finished the day with 80 keepers up to 8 lbs. High hook was 11 keepers (orl). Not a bad day at all considering how stirred up the sound was after that blow. Togs are chewin! Plenty of room for tomorrow. Only a few signed up so far but we are definitely going!

Awesome black fishing today!!! We did not sail yesterday due to the weather. Today we sailed on an educational school trip during the morning. After the trip was over, Capt Paul said he would like to try his hand at black fishing as normally he only gets a chance to catch giant fluke on the south shore. So on the way home, Paul, Chris and I decided to make a quick drop.Well to say the least black fishing was awesome!!!

Paul, a very aggressive fisherman, snapped his rod on a big black, landed the fish and then proceeded to catch another dozen keepers with half a rod. It was quite a performance. The three of us easily managed our commercial limit and threw back some more (ORL) in no time. Red hot bite!!
Quality fish to 8 lbs!

Looks like this weather has got em stirred up and angry. Tomorrow looks beautiful. Plenty of room if you would like to join us!

Monday, October 20, 2008

Very windy start to the day but it finished up beautiful. 18 anglers had 32 keepers plus 10 sea bass. A few sharpies had their limit of tog to 7 lbs. Water cooled a few degrees since friday.
Good days are ahead!

Sunday, October 19, 2008

We did not sail the past two days due to the weather. Fridays trip was slow as 12 tog were landed and some sea bass in tough conditions with the wind and strong tide.
Hopefully coming off this moon with the cooler temperatures they will start to bite good!
