Here is a fishing report that one of our customers posted on Noreast.com:

"A 4:30 PM trip on the Celtic Quest with Capt Desi at the wheel became PORGY HEAVEN. On monday evening we had 5 fares and Desi said lets go fishing. Forty minutes to middle grounds 3 Hrs to fish and I limited out. I only took 30 porgys home, I threw back at least that many. The porgys were on the hook (2) at a time. If I could guess,5 of us had caught 200+ in 3 hours.
PORGY HEAVEN…PORGY HEAVEN…PORGY HEAVEN… DESI thanks a lot for another great trip. TWEETY…"

Fishing was very good all week long!!! The porgie fishing has been excellent at the middle grounds with lots of big scup both on the deep water wrecks and rocks as well as the shallow rocks near the light house. The size has been excellent with fish to 3 lbs almost everyday. The south rip has also been holding some real quality fish as well. Mixing in has been some nice sea bass to 4 lbs.

This weekend was a blow out as we did not sail at all on Saturday. We did get out on b our mid day trip in today but it was slow as the water was still very churned up and murky from the storm.Hopefully things should settle down by tomorrow and we can get back into the some good fishing again.

Solid fishing today!
9 fares enjoyed a good pick of fish today as many very large porgies and dozen sea bass we landed on the day. To go along with the porgies and sea bass we also had 25 -30 blues. High hook was around 30-40 porgies, 3 sea bass and 5 blues. Some real quality fish today in the rip both on the drift and at anchor.

Yesterdays' pm trip was also very good. After jigging a few blues, one drop was all that was needed for 6 fares to catch lots of big porgies. We threw a few back for a while and then called it a trip!

Insane fishing now!!!.
Awesome fishing continues! Tons of jumbo porgies and and blues. Yesterdays am trip saw a one drop limit catch of big porgies as over 400 scup were landed in no time. We finished off the trip with some very good diamond jigging. The pm trip saw nearly 200 blues landed as once the tide picked up the blues really piled up good along the rip. Today's am trip was awesome as we jigged a ton of blues and had a great catch of porgies, many of which were on the huge side up to 3 lbs!
This is some of the best fishing we have seen in years at the middle! Great ides coming up this weekend!

Come on out for some great action for the whole family!

The last few days the Middle Grounds has been on fire! The jigging has been off the hook as the blues have been ferocious with limits in no time on blues to 10 lbs.. Today we had all we needed for 19 fares in an hours time and left them in an all out frenzy. To go along with it we had a very good catch of big scup up to 18 inches long and some nice sea bass as well. Awesome day! Check out the video of the trip @ https://celticquestfishing.com/video_library.html.

Last night we did not have the right tide for the jigging with the slack water in the middle of the trip but the bottom fishing was Fantastic!!! One stop shopping as a limit of big porgies was landed in no time! Great night. Now is the time. Middle Ground Madness in full effect!!!

Absolutely SAVAGE fishing right now !!!
Middle Ground Madness in full effect! This has been the finest jigging we have seen at the Middle Grounds in years. Both tides have been amazing as the south rip all the way past the lighthouse to the north green can has been lit up everyday!!

Blues form 1 pound to gaffing teen size fish and all you want. Some trips are also seeing a lot of short striped bass with an occasional keeper. Amazing right now!

Besides a rather slow trip for no apparent reason yesterday evening, the Middle Grounds has been on FIRE!!!
This week has been some of the best diamond jigging we have seen in a long time. Many drifts have lasted up to 30 minutes, bailing blues the whole time. Both the outgoing and the incoming tide has been great! Amazing diamond jigging right now!

The porgies bite has been ok, with a pick of quality porgies. Once these hard tides pass it should get really good. Some nice fish around as well as a handful of sea bass each trip.Bring the kids. They will love it!!

Very good bottom fishing and diamond jigging right now! Saturdays mornings trip saw a very good catch of big porgies Off Old Field. The mid day trip was a bloodbath as the the blues were all over the place! Our pm trip started out with a good porgie bite,, then the bite slowed after a brief thunderstorm. We moved over to the shoal and had another good drop on the porgies which made for a decent night. We tried one last rock pile to end the night which was slow.

Today's Noreast Charter was a blast! The morning conditions were very poor as the flood tide against the west wind made it nearly impossible to sit still. Nonetheless we picked away at some nice sized scup. Would have been great had we been able to anchor properly. Then we headed out to the Middle Grounds and slayed the blues.!!! The rip was lit up as the blues feasted on a ton of anchovies, butterfish and even baby snappers. Bail job!!!

Once the tide eased we switched back to bottom fishing for a pick of some big scup and a handful a sea bass. To end the trip we took a few token fluke drifts, managing 1 keeper a few shorts and 1 big sea bass. To top it all off there was more food than we could possibly eat. Total for the day was several hundred blues (ORL) 150-200 porgies, 8 sea bass, 1 striper and 1 fluke.
Thanks guys for a great day!
