Fishing Reports

Fluking was very good on our afternoon trip on Monday. Nice pick of fish all night on the incoming tide at buoy 11. 7 fares ended up with 26 keepers to 4.5 lbs.

Yesterday's trip was decent but not great. Fishing was slow in the morning off Port Jeff. We found a few though off Rocky Point to finish up the day. Ended the day with 25 keepers to 4 lbs mixed with a ton a shorts. John Tirella lead the way keeping his limit.

Fishing was very good again on the evening trip Tuesday as 4 fares had 16 keepers fishing at B11.

Just got back in from a fantastic night of fluking!

The day trip was a little slow for the first part of the trip. But Captain Chris located a big pile of fluke to end the day.

The last few drifts were excellent as one drift saw over 20 keepers alone. All is well that ends well.

We headed right back to the spot on our second trip and the action was excellent. Lots of fluke!!!

Some of the highlights included Kil Song with 7 keepers, the Veteran had 7 keepers including a double header and a 6 lb pool fish, Fishon13 finally got back on his game and led the way with 9 keepers. 5 year old Chris Bacalla had a 5 lber. My Mom even caught a few keepers! Just a great night.

FLuke are thick right now! Just give a call if you would like to join us.

It was a great week of fluking in our area!

One of the best we have had in several years!

The highlight of the week was Kevin Stewarts 9 lb doormat caught on Friday. Congratulations Kevin on a beautiful fish!

Saturdays trip was very good with a total of 73 keepers on the day with a ton a shorts. Some great fishing right outside the harbor as well as to the east off Rocky Point.

Sunday's day trip was very slow as the easterly wind really had the bite shut off. There were some keepers to go around but not like it had been.

By Sunday afternoon though after wind and seas finally calmed down the bite was starting again and with many nice fluke coming over the rails by the trips end.

We look forward to another great week ahead

Despite the lousy conditions the past two days with the easterly winds and very poor drifting conditions, the fluke have continued to bite very well.

Today 10 fares had 35 keepers to 4 lbs. Ed Remek lead the way with six keepers.( and yes…… he only kept his limit!!)

Yesterday saw similar results with 8 fares landing over 30 keepers to 5 lbs.

Yesterdays pm trip was on the slow side due to terrible conditions with the wind against the tide and lack of drift.

We sailed with 3 fares and landed just a few keepers on the night.

Considering the conditions though, it has been very good fishing. Look forward to when the winds swing back to the west again. Should be good!!

Crowds have been light and the fluke have been hungry!

Excellent, excellent day today.

Caught fluke all day long!

17 fares had over 300 fluke on the day, close to 100 were keepers!

There was a ton of fish up on the shoal today. We worked the same drift all day long.

Nice sw breeze to push us along with the outgoing tide. Ton of bait in the area. Birds working all over. Just a great day all around.

No better way to beat the heat than to get in on some of this great fluking right now!

Great day fluking again today!!

Caught well all day long. Tremendous action with plenty of nice sized fluke in the mix. 12 fares kept over 40 keepers on the day with a few over 5 lbs.

Excellent fluke bite today!!!

Ten fares on our charter today would have easily limited out but some of them had to get home.

Man that was tough leaving such a great bite! Fluke were biting their heads off when we left. I wanted to stay out all afternoon!

Nonetheless, everyone went home very happy as we kept close to our limit on the day and released five times the amount of shorts.

Pool fish was 5 lbs and straight spearing without any jewelry was the ticket.

Great day all around!!!!!!
Just spoke with Captain Chris who is running the evening trip and he said they are mohawking the fluke right now. The great bite is still on!!!

Cant wait to get back out there again tomorrow. Plenty of room on tomorrows trip for you fluke lovers out there!

Also, for those of you who are interested, we will be appearing tomorrow morning on Rich Johnson's TV show!!!!!!!!

This show will feature some great fall blackfishing which we had with Rich this past November. The following is Rich's press release with the info on where to tune in.

We had a nice trip yesterday with the gang from Noreast.com. It was the annual 'Battle of the Sexes'. Im not sure who won, so to be politically correct I'll say it was a tie.
Special thanks goes out to the one and only Lucky Lindy who told us about his 'top secret' fluke spot. Thanks Lindy.
The first of the ebb saw a good catch of fluke as we finished the day with over 40 keepers. Danny Kuftak had the largest on the day with a 5 lber. Lindy was high hook retaining his limit of fluke.

Great day out there and a pleasure to fish with such a great crowd.

We didnt sail much on the day trips this past week, but the evening trips were very consistent right off the beach near Mt Misery and some nice fish are starting to show out on the shoal.

The good fluking should continue. We are sailing two trips daily now for Fluke.

7am and 4:30pm

This Tuesday is our guest celebrity day as the one and only Captain Neil Faulkner will be fishing with us. Should be fun.

Once the weather finally cleared up, the fluking really improved over last week.

We have sailed the last several days and though it hasnt been super yet, we are seeing a decent pick on most trips with fluke to 4lbs.

When the conditions are right, the bite has been good, with the beginning of the tide and the last of the tide being the best. The bite turns on and off, but when you hit it right there are some nice quality fluke coming up.

Things are just getting going on the fluke front. Our area is always the last for the fluke to arrive. But the fish are now here and June has always been the best for our area. Come and get em'.
