The last few days have ranged from excellent to very slow for no apparent reason. We have had some great shots of big blues in the middle with some bass, and cocktails inshore on the surface. Yesterday was slow for some reason on both the blues and the porgies, but go figure, we had a great fishing for nice size porgies on the afternoon trip and some decent shots at the blues off Miller Place. Today, the morning bite was good on the porgies as our charter of 7 had a nice catch of quality scup fishing a deep wreck. The chunk bite was slow on the blues.
Ton of bait around, ton of fish around but we are in the typical hot summer pattern where you never know quite what to expect. One day the chicken, one day the feathers!
