Great fishing today! We had Capt Jerry Mcgraths Fish and Kinds program out today. All the kids had a great day as bottom fishing was red hot!! Here is Capt Jerry's report:

Yesterday, forty 4th graders, 20+ chaperones, and 4 teachers from the Oxhead Rd. Elementary School were taken to the "Promised Porgyland" by the always affable and friendly crew of the Celtic Quest. Whooping and hollering prevailed as porgy after porgy (porkchop after porkchop) found their way over the rails of the famed Port Jefferson party/charter. No skunks around the entire vessel and 9 yr. old Alexia Lengyel led the way with her dad by capturing over 26 scup. Victoria Mankowski captured the largest fish on the day, a 5 lb. blackfish which was quickly released. Not much sun today, a few sprinkles, but NO WIND, thus nice flat seas (a big factor with a boatload of young newbies). To sum it up: AWESOME DAY, despite the June grey skies. Many thanks to Capt. Chris and the ever-patient Tommy & Josh.

The Pm trip was also very solid as 8 anglers jigged 40 blues and a few short striped bass to start the night and then finished up with 100 big porgies. (retaining only their limit)
Hot fishing now!
