We were recently highlighted in an online article describing a summer fishing trip in Port Jefferson as feeling like “a party out on the open water.” It’s always nice to see visitors describe their time aboard Celtic Quest in their own words.

This New York Fishing Charter Feels Like a Summer Party Out on the Open Water
For us, what matters most is that families and first-time anglers walk off the boat smiling. That has been our focus since 2002.
If you’re thinking about joining us this season, you can book your fishing trip from Port Jefferson here.
What the Article Highlighted—And What We Focus On Every Day
The article talked about a few things that stood out to us because they are exactly what we work toward on every trip.
A Welcoming Experience for All Skill Levels
Whether someone has fished their whole life or never held a rod before, our goal is to make the day comfortable and enjoyable.
We provide:
- Rods and reels
- Bait and tackle
- Hands-on help from the crew
- Fish cleaning at the end of the trip
You do not need experience. You just need to show up ready to have a good day on the water.
A Family-Friendly Fishing Trip
Many of our guests are families introducing their kids to fishing for the first time.
There’s something special about seeing a child reel in their first porgy or fluke. We take the time to help them learn, answer questions, and make sure everyone feels included.
Fishing should feel welcoming, not intimidating.
Fishing the Long Island Sound Out of Port Jefferson
We sail from Port Jefferson Harbor and fish the productive waters of the Long Island Sound.
Depending on the season, we target species such as
- Porgy (Scup)
- Fluke (Summer Flounder)
- Black Sea Bass
- Blackfish (Tautog)
- Striped Bass (when in season)
We always fish what is open and in season. Fishing conditions and what we’re catching are always changing, but we always focus on giving our guests the best shot at a great experience.
