Long Island Fishing Report – Sunday, October 26, 2008

Things were not looking good when we first started today. The wave height was up to 8 feet on the weather buoy at midnight and the water was all stirred up when we started. No bites at all on the first wreck.Tried a few other drops with very little success. As the tide changed we moved off into some deeper water and luckily the togs started to bite! Finished the day with 80 keepers up to 8 lbs. High hook

Long Island Fishing Report – Friday, October 24, 2008

Nice catch of today!!30 fares enjoyed a solid catch all day as 90 keepers, many on the meaty side were landed. Pool was 8 lbs. Many fares had their limit. Special guest appearance was made by the one and only Kenjz who was high hook with 7 keepers, none of which were caught on chowder clams :).

Long Island Fishing Report – Thursday, October 23, 2008

Awesome black fishing today!!! We did not sail yesterday due to the weather. Today we sailed on an educational school trip during the morning. After the trip was over, Capt Paul said he would like to try his hand at black fishing as normally he only gets a chance to catch giant fluke on the south shore. So on the way home, Paul, Chris and I decided to make a quick drop.Well to say the least black fishing was awesome!!!

Long Island Fishing Report – Monday, October 20, 2008

Very windy start to the day but it finished up beautiful. 18 anglers had 32 keepers plus 10 sea bass. A few sharpies had their limit of tog to 7 lbs. Water cooled a few degrees since friday. Good days are ahead!

We did not sail the past two days due to the weather. Fridays trip was slow as 12 tog were landed and some sea bass in tough conditions with the wind and strong tide. Hopefully coming off this moon with the cooler temperatures they will start to bite good!

Long Island Fishing Report – Thursday, October, 16,2008

We did not sail today as only a few fares showed up. Definitely going tomorrow though! The past 2 days were on the slow side as the screaming moon tide had the bite shut down a bit. Managed 300 porgies, 14 blackfish and 30 sea bass on Tuesday. Wednesday saw about the same amount of porgies, 8 blackfish and a dozen sea bass. Today we had 30 nice blackfish to 7 lbs, 20 sea bass and 500 porgies. The porgies were a bit elusive today and we had to search a bit to find them. But we put together a decent catch by the days end. Only 3 more days left in the porgy season. Hope to see you!

Long Island Fishing Report – Saturday, October 11, 2008

Super fishing now!! 21 keeper blackfish to 7 lbs, 24 sea bass to 4 lbs and 1,400 jumbo and Super Jumbo porgies some which weighed in over 3 lbs!! Many had their limit no problem on the first drop! Just a few days left. This has been some of the finest quality fish we have seen in a long time.  Still plenty of room on mondays trip!

Lousy sea conditions today. Very rough in the morning but thankfully things calmed down a bit by the afternoon. Had a nice catch of fish despite the conditions. Over 30 keeper blackfish, 20 sea bass and 500 porgies were landed on the day. Joe from the Captree Princess led the way with 4 blackfish, 4 sea bass and over 50 porgies (ORL).

Beautiful day out there today. Not a wave on the sound. Nice mixed bag action again today as 25 fares had 24 keeper blackfish, over 50 sea bass up to 4 lbs and 400-500 porgies to 3 lbs. Plenty of room on upcoming trips if you would like to get in on the the great fall bottom fishing!

Awesome day again today. 28 keeper blackfish, 20 sea bass and over 1,200 porgies, most of which were jumbo and super jumbo sized. (ORL) Left them biting in an all out slaughter as we certainly had enough.. We had to call in the reinforcements and get Chief mate Tommy to meet us at the dock to help cut fish even though the crew had already been cutting for hours.Some day!Plenty of room tomorrow if you want in on this awesome
