Great day today!!! Full boat limit no problem. Headed home early! Cod into the teens! Very good trip and everyone went home with a ton of fish. Morning bite chumming on anchor was excellent.

Long Island Fishing Report – Tuesday, Jan 18th , 2011

Yesterday was another very solid day of cod fishing, though not the ludicrous numbers of last week. Suffice to say there was still a ton of cod landed, action all day long with many guys at or around a limit catch. Tons of throwbacks in the mix today. Everyone went home with fish for dinner. Nice to see some larger cod showing up now as well.

Cod fishing remains excellent!!! Everyone is going home with lots of fish. Limits catches every trip so far. Yesterday we found some larger cod with some nice fish in the teens. Still catching well on both bait and jigs. Some start to the season!

What a day again yesterday! The morning bite at first light was on fire for the first few hours. Jigs, bait, it didnt matter. Everyone caught well. The bite slowed around 9am when the current eased. Finally got a break in the weather and tried one last time for some tog. Unfortunately the water temp dropped over 5 degrees this week alone!! With a chilly 44 degree surface temp, the action was very slow. We had about 10 tog, 3 keepers on 3 drops before calling the day early. And so that concluded our 2010 tog season! Excellent tog bite today. Started the day with a great herring bite at the dock! Then 18 anglers had a full boat limit of nice quality tog with several 7-8 lbs class…. And we even caught a keeper cod! Capt Jp from the osprey led the way with 10 keepers. Jay (jc30967) And Charlie both had 8 plus lb tog. Very good bite in the deep water right now. Long Island Fishing Report – Tuesday, November,30,2010

Put together a good day today. Weather was lousy with a good stiff southeast wind all day. Nonetheless the tog bit fine as 16 anglers had over 150 tog, keeping 50 up to 8lbs. Lee was high hook with 9 keepers (orl) and the pool winner! Nice job Lee. Johnny B had 6 keepers, Capt Jack had 5. Roger, Ed and a few others all Limited out. Not bad considering the conditions! We were blown out last two days but today was beautiful out there! Picked away all day for around 150 tog, 55 keepers to 6.5lbs. Ned was high hook with 12 tog, 5 keepers (orl).
